• peripheral blood is mostly composed of human monocytes
• bone marrow is composed of human monocytes and neutrophils
• monocyte subpopulations are similar to populations found in human peripheral blood and bone marrow
• transplanted mice develop human eosinophils, basophils and dendritic cells in bone marrow and blood
• numbers of human myeloid cells in non lymphoid tissues (lung, liver, colon) are increased by 10 fold that of controls
• numbers of human NK cells found in blood and liver are 10x higher in engrafted mutant as compared to controls
• engrafted tumors exhibit increased numbers of human myelomonocytic cells and are larger in volume as compared to controls
