• mice show decreased freezing in the context test compared to wild-type mice
• mice show decreased freezing in cued tests compared to wild-type mice
• decrease in magnitude in response to 90?110 dB(A) pulse intensities
• however, response to 115 and 120 dB(A) pulses was similar to controls
• haloperidol has no effect on the startle response defect
• most mice show occasional front paw clasping
• increase in time spent awake
• more frequent episodes of vigilance states that are shorter in duration compared to wild-type controls

hearing/vestibular/ear

• no defect in auditory evoked potential responses at 65, 68, 70 or 80 dB

nervous system
• expression analysis indicates impaired differentiation of cultured neuronal precursor cells
• cultured neuronal precursor cells show enhanced proliferation

• profound defect in PPI using 100 ms prepulse intervals and three prepulse intensities and when using a single 85 dB(A) prepulse intensity and 25-500 ms prepulse intervals
• haloperidol has no effect on the PPI defect
