• polyploid cells are seen in the inner cell mass
• numerous inner cell mass cells in prometaphase (PM) or metaphase (M) are detected unlike in controls
• in inner cell mass cells from cultured embryos mitotic figures display misaligned chromosomes in the presence of Mad2l1 and Ccnb1
• at E6.5 - E7.5, an increase in the number of mitotic cells is seen, mostly made up of cells in PM and M with misaligned chromosomes
• abnormal spindles with a strong concentration of alpha-tubulin in the poles and lack of bipolar fibers in inner cell mass cells
• multipolar spindles are seen
• in embryos at E6.5 - E7.5
