• these mast cells also have a third slower migration rate towards SCF in transwell assays than controls
• in vivo, less mast cells migrate to the skin when SCF is administered than in controls
• bone marrow derived mast cells have a 3-fold reduction in granule release upon Fc-epsilionRI stimulation compared to controls
• calcium flux from the extracellular environment is significantly reduced after receptor stimulation compared to controls
• when passive cutaneous anaphylaxis (PCA) is induced in the ear of mice, the mast cells fail to respond
• similar results are observed when mutant mast cells are transferred into mast-cell deficient mice and PCA is induced
