• the thymus contains one third to one twenty-fifth the number of cells as in Dll4tm1Kaho homozygous controls
• double negative 1 (DN1) cells present in the thymus do not develop into T cells but instead differentiate into immature B cell phenotype
• however, differentiation of wild-type hematopoietic progenitor cells transfected with an active form of Notch1 occurs when they are co-culture of thymic lobes lacking Dll4 expression
• thymi are populated by double negative cells that do not express Thy1 or TCR instead of double positive and single positive cells found in Dll4tm1Kaho homozygous controls
• thymi are populated by double negative cells that do not express Thy1 or TCR instead of double positive and single positive cells found in Dll4tm1Kaho homozygous controls
