immune system
• T cells fail to mount a Th2 response to OVA challenge as assessed by significantly lower Th2 cytokines in the lung in response to OVA challenge
• there is an increase in CD4 T cells found in thoracic lymph nodes after OVA challenge to the lungs
• there is an increase in CD8 T cells found in thoracic lymph nodes after OVA challenge to the lungs
• serum levels of OVA-specific IgE were 50-fold lower than controls after challenge of lungs with OVA peptide
• there is a decrease in the percentage of activated CD4 T cells in thoracic lymph nodes after OVA challenge to the lungs
• there is also a decrease in the number of activated CD4 and CD8 T cells found in the lung after OVA challenge
• there is significantly less IL-4 found in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid after OVA challenge to the lungs
• there is 10-fold less IL-5 found in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid after OVA challenge to the lungs
• mice do not develop any significant pulmonary inflammation in response to OVA challenge compared to wild-type mice that develop an asthma-like disease
• six-fold less immune cells are isolated from bronchoalveolar lavage after OVA recruitment
• an asthma phenotype occurs in these mice when OVA-specific Th2 T cells are transferred in prior to OVA challenge

respiratory system
• mice do not develop any significant pulmonary inflammation in response to OVA challenge compared to wild-type mice that develop an asthma-like disease
• six-fold less immune cells are isolated from bronchoalveolar lavage after OVA recruitment
• an asthma phenotype occurs in these mice when OVA-specific Th2 T cells are transferred in prior to OVA challenge
• OVA challenged mice had significantly less change in airway resistance in response to increases in metacholine compared to OVA challenged wild-type mice
• resistance of the OVA challenged mice is similar to unchallenged wild-type mice

homeostasis/metabolism
• there is significantly less IL-4 found in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid after OVA challenge to the lungs
• there is 10-fold less IL-5 found in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid after OVA challenge to the lungs
