• following infection with Aspergillus fumigatus or Leishmania major, mice exhibit fewer IL-4 and IL-5 producing cells, slightly less acetylcholine reactivity and reduced serum levels of IgE compared to wild-type mice
• after 5 days in culture, CD4+ T cells stimulated under TH2 conditions (phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate and ionomycin) produce less IL-13 compared to wild-type cells
• after 4 days in culture, CD4+ T cells stimulated under TH2 conditions (phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate and ionomycin) produce less IL-4 and exhibit fewer IL-4 producing cells compared to wild-type cells
• after 5 days in culture, CD4+ T cells stimulated under TH2 conditions (phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate and ionomycin) produce less IL-4 compared to wild-type cells
• however, proliferation and cytokine production of T cells under TH1 conditions and IL-4 production by mast cells stimulated with ionomycin are normal
• after 5 days in culture, CD4+ T cells stimulated under TH2 conditions (phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate and ionomycin) produce less IL-5 compared to wild-type cells
• following infection with Nippostrongylus brasiliensis, mice contain fewer IL-4 producing cells compared to wild-type mice
• following infection with Aspergillus fumigatus or Leishmania major, mice exhibit fewer IL-4 and IL-5 producing cells, slightly less acetylcholine reactivity and reduced serum levels of IgE compared to wild-type mice
• following infection with Leishmania major, mice exhibit reduced size of footpad lesions and fewer parasites are recovered from infected tissue compared to in wild-type mice
