• microsomes from liver, adipose tissue or muscles lack oxo-reductase activity but exhibit increased dehydrogenase activity compared to in wild-type microsomes
• mice fail to respond to treatment with 11-dehydrocorticosterone by decreasing glucose stimulated insulin secretion as do wild-type mice
• however, treatment with corticosterone decreases glucose stimulated insulin secretion normally
