• atrophy, surface irregularities, necrosis, and fibrosis are seen in homozygous kidneys
• restricted occlusions are seen in some small or capillary blood vessels
• thickening of the intimal or medial smooth muscle layers is seen in some arterioles and interlobular, arcuate, and renal arteries resulting in narrowing or blockage of vessels
• necrosis and fibrosis are seen in the medulla and cortex in a deltaic ship
• retraction of the renal cortex layer
• shedding of renal tubular cells is seen in the cortex
• restricted occlusions are seen in some renal tubules
• necrosis and fibrosis are seen in the medulla and cortex in a deltaic ship, with fibrosis also seen along renal tubules and blood vessels
