growth/size/body
• hemorrhagic ovarian cysts are occasionally seen at 8 weeks of age
• cysts are also seen at 20 weeks of age in some homozygous females

reproductive system
• significant oocyte death is seen at 20 weeks of age in some mutants along with oocytes lacking cumulus cells and interstitium full of zona pellucida remnants
• in mutants with oocyte death at 20 weeks of age zona pellucida remnants are in the interstitium and the zona pellucidae are invaded by granulosa cells
• increased numbers of apoptotic cells, mostly in meiotic prophase, are seen in the testes of 7 week old homozygous males
• at 8 months of age, all nine homozygotes had ovaries containing abundant interstitial tissue
• at 8 months of age, 5 out of 9 homozygous females had corpora lutae containing centrally trapped oocytes
• by 21 day of age fewer follicles are seen and in many of those present the granulosa cells are disorganized, fewer follicles are also seen at 8 weeks of age
• at 20 weeks of age some ovaries had mostly preantral follicles with occasional follicles containing 2 oocytes and larger than normal oocytes
• at 8 months of age, 3 of 9 homozygous females had small ovaries lacking oocytis and follicles
• hemorrhagic ovarian cysts are occasionally seen at 8 weeks of age
• cysts are also seen at 20 weeks of age in some homozygous females
• a block in late spermatogenesis as spermatids elongate is seen
• large, vacuolated spermatids and multinucleated condensed spermatids are frequently seen
• juvenile homozygous females fail to ovulate in response to gonadotropin treatment
