• mutants respond to brief periods of dim red light during the light period with vigorous wheel-running unlike wild-type mice
• the time of onset of activity at the beginning of the dark period is more variable
• in about 1/3 of homozygotes in DD conditions a rhythmic component can be discerned and it is in direct antiphase with the prior light-dark cycle (J:96895)
• the peak of activity is in antiphase to the prior LD cycle (J:97146)
• in about 2/3 of homozygotes in DD conditions no circadian rhythm in wheel-running behavior is seen (J:96895)
• with continuous dim red light homozygotes display only weak rhythmic activity with no clear time of onset (J:97146)
• homozygotes re-entrain more rapidly to an 8 hour shift in the LD cycle (2.4 days compared to 6.7 days to complete entrainment in wild-type mice)

hematopoietic system
• serum levels of IgE are lower after immunization with TNP-KLH than levels in wild-type

• stimulation of CD4+ splenic T cells with anti-CD3 plus anti-CD28 antibodies results in 3.6- and 4.7-fold higher secretion at 24 and 96 hours respectively relative to wild-type cells
• stimulated splenic CD4+ T cells produce 62 and 25% of the levels observed in wild-type cells at 24 and 96 hours
