• at 8 months, lenses exhibit blurred and distorted image formation compared with wild-type lenses

• abnormal actin distribution and altered F-actin to G-actin ratio in lenses

• slight haze in mice older than 1 year of age

• however, mice do not develop cataract

abnormal lens fiber morphology ( J:201031 )

• at 4 and 6 months, mice exhibit scattered fragments of nuclear debris in deeper layers of mature fiber cells unlike wild-type mice
