• CA1 pyramidal neurons show a simplification in the dendritic arbors, with 8 week old mice showing a 21% decrease in the total number of branch points in the basal dendritic tree of CA1 neurons
• the number of mushroom spines in primary cultured neurons is reduced by 43%
• reduction in the mushroom spine density in CA1 pyramidal neurons
• however, no changes in the width and length of primary culture neurons and CA1 pyramidal spines are seen
