Mouse lines carrying:
Acetm5Keb mutation (0 available); any Ace mutation (54 available)
phenotype observed in females
phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype
cardiovascular system
N
• blood pressure and plasma renin and angiotensisn I concentrations are normal
• homozygotes are not anemic and recover normally after induced red blood cell lysis

homeostasis/metabolism
N
• the ratio of angiotensin I to II in the plasma is normal
• N-terminal catalytic activity is absent in homozygotes and conversion of angiotensin I into angiotensin II is reduced compared to wild-type mice

renal/urinary system
N
• kidney development and function are normal

Acetm5Keb mutation (0 available); any Ace mutation (54 available)
phenotype observed in females
phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype
mortality/aging
• mice treated with a high dose of bleomycin

homeostasis/metabolism
• activity of the N-terminus (measured by N-acetyl-seryl-aspartyl-lysyl-proline hydrolysis) is increased compared to in wild-type mice
• mice treated with a high dose of bleomycin
• bleomycin-treated mice exhibit reduced lung injury with reduced or absent alveolar cell hyperplasia, interstitial pneumonitis, focal fibrosis, elevation in hydroxyproline lung content, weight loss, and mortality (at high doses) compared with similarly treated wild-type mice
• however, inhibition of N-acetyl-seryl-aspartyl-lysyl-proline generation with S-17092 restores bleomycin-induced injury measured by lung fibrosis and hydroxyproline lung content
