• homozygotes are viable, fertile, and show normal plasma clinical chemistry as well as normal liver, kidney, and intestine histology
• at 20 min after i.v. administration of [14C]-tetraethylammonium (TEA) at 0.2 mg/kg, no significant differences are observed in the distribution and excretion of this prototypic organic cation relative to wild-type controls, except for the brain, where levels are reduced with borderline significance
