Presence of megakaryocytes in the spleen of 11 week old Sirpatm1Nog/Sirpatm1Nog mice

growth/size/body
• mean body mass is reduced by about 10% compared to wild-type

hematopoietic system
• an increased number of megakaryocytes are seen in the spleen at 11 weeks of age
• the circulating platelet count is reduced by about 25% compared to wild-type mice
• the life span of platelets is significantly decreased in mutants
• the proportion of CD4+ and CD8+ cells are decreased compared to wild-type mice
• the phagocytic activity of peritoneal macrophages is significantly enhanced

immune system
• the proportion of CD4+ and CD8+ cells are decreased compared to wild-type mice
• the phagocytic activity of peritoneal macrophages is significantly enhanced
• 2,4-dinitro-1-fluorobenzene-induced migration of Langerhans cells out of the epidermis is significantly impaired
