abnormal melanoblast morphology ( J:38382 )

• at E14.5, melanoblasts are absent

decreased Cajal-Retzius cell number ( J:45208 )

• while Cajal cells are present at birth they are reduced in number by P15

• the number of Cajal cells fails to increase with the expansion of the small intestine area after birth as in wild-type mice

• however, no increase in apoptotis is observed

abnormal action potential ( J:45208 )

• unlike in wild-type mice, the small intestine does not display any slow wave-type action potentials and the membrane resting potential is lower than in wild-type mice
