Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Endonuclease-mediated (Humanized sequence)
Mutations:    Insertion, Single point mutation

Mutation detailsArginine codon 529 (GCA) was changed to valine (GTA) (p.A529V) using TALENs. The loxP site flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette that was inserted into intron 11 was removed through subsequent Cre-mediated recombination. The mutation, in the oxygen degradation domain (ODD) of the encoded protein, is the equivalent of the human p.A530V mutation associated with PacakZhuang Syndrome (paraganglioma, somatostatinoma and polycythemia). In mice it leads to polycythemia. (J:380927)
