Mutation details: CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing technology was used to generate an exon 3 deletion that causes a premature translational stop codon. This mutation produces a truncated protein consisting of only the N-terminal 88 amino acids of the full-length 424 amino acid wild-type protein. Western blot analysis demonstrated a >50% reduction of protein expression in heterozygous mutant mice.
