Mutation details: A loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 3 and an FRT-flanked neomycin selection cassette and loxP site were inserted downstream of exon 3. The neomycin selection cassette was deleted via flp-mediated recombination. Exon 3 was deleted via cre-mediated recombination in the germline. Deletion of exon 3 induces a frameshift and stop codon in exon 4. Western blot analysis confirmed the absence of protein in all tissues analyzed.
