Mutation detailsMice carrying this allele were generated using TAMERE technology. Embryonic stem (ES) cells bearing insertions of a loxP-PGK-Neo cassette into the first exon (5'delta) or into the polyadenylation signal (3'delta) were generated. Chimeric mice were generated with the recombinant ES clones and were subsequently mated with transgenic mice (B6;D2-Tg(Sycp1-cre)4 Min/J) that express the Cre recombinase under the control of Sycp1 to generate double heterozygous mice. These mice were inter-crossed to generate trans-heterozygous (5'delta/3'delta) mice with the Sycp1-Cre transgene. Male mice produced sperm that had the alleles completely deleted and were studied further. (J:250154)
