Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Dominant negative, Inducible, Inserted expressed sequence)
Inducer:    doxycycline/tetracycline
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsThis transgene consists of a FLAG-tagged version of human HDAC5 expressed from a tetracycline responsive promoter. In addition serine-to-alanine mutations, at residues 259 and 498, were created to prevent the export of the protein to the cytosol. This transgene acts as a dominant-negative regulator of myocyte enhancer factor-2 signaling. (J:81967)
