Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Hypomorph)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsThis allele contains a loxP-flanked neomycin resistance (neo) cassette inserted into intron 1 and a third loxP site downstream of exon 3. Presence of the neo cassette leads to aberrant splicing and decreased expression levels, making this allele hypomorphic. Cre recombinase excision of only the neo cassette produces Sox9tm1Gsr; excision of both the neo cassette and the floxed segment containing exons 2 and 3 yields Sox9tm1.1Gsr. (J:75124, J:141017)
