Mutation details: Vk167/PEPS is an Igk transgene with a truncated region upstream of the promoter. The Igk (immunoglobulin kappa) sequence was further modified through the insertion, near the 3' end of the variable region of Igk, of 5 tandem repeats of a 20-bp adenine/thymine (A/T) fragment which is in the same orientation as the insert in the TgT line but also includes a single guanine:cytosine (G:C) base pair in the central repeat. In this "TgC" line, the cytosine was placed on the 5'->3' strand of the DNA.
