description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Conditional ready, Reporter)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsThis is a reporter allele for Cre activity that expresses a non-toxic tandem-dimer red fluorescent protein (2 modified DsRed subunits covalently linked) following Cre-mediated deletion of a floxed neo/stop cassette. The targeting vector inserted in intron 1 contains a neomycin/stop codon cassette and an inverted sequence coding for tandem-dimer red fluorescent protein. Inverted pairs of loxP and loxP2272 sites are arranged around these sequences in such a way that cre expression results in excision of the neo/stop codon cassette and inverts the tandem-dimer red fluorescent protein sequence permitting its expression.
