Name: tumor necrosis factor; mutation 1, Bruce Beutler
MGI ID: MGI:3616888
Synonyms: PanR1, TnfPanR1
Gene: Tnf  Location: Chr17:35418357-35420983 bp, - strand  Genetic Position: Chr17, 18.59 cM
Alliance: TnfM1Btlr page
Strain of Origin:  C57BL/6J
Project Collection: Beutler Mutagenetix
Allele Type:    Chemically induced (ENU)
Mutation:    Single point mutation
Mutation detailsThis mutation was identified in a screen of G1 progeny of ENU mutagenized male mice for responses to Toll-like receptor- (TLR-) activating ligands. It is a C-to-A transversion in exon 4 which results in replacement of proline by threonine at amino acid 138 of the protein (P138T). Mutant mice produce no active TNF, either secreted or membrane-bound. (J:124642)
Inheritance:    Dominant
