Notes

Of 8 transgene-positive mice obtained from injected fertilized oocytes, two males - called 1.2HB-BS 10 and 1.2HB-BS 17 - had HBV DNA in their sera, at concentrations of 15 and 2 ng/ml, respectively. As line 10 had the higher level, subsequent experiments were done using mice of this lineage.
