Mutation details: The loxP-flanked lacZ cassette was removed from Efnb2tm1.1Henk (frt-flanked neo excised from Efnb2tm1Henk) via cre-mediated recombination, generating a stop codon in exon 5. The nonsense mutation precludes the translation of the cytoplasmic tail (beyond codon 264). This allele is expected to encode a protein similar to Efnb2tm1.1Henk, but lacking beta-gal. Similarly, this mutation is expected to ablate reverse signaling while leaving forward signaling intact.
