description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Inserted expressed sequence, Null/knockout)
Mutation:    Insertion

Cebpatm1.1(Cebpb)Ylee expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsThis allele was generated by breeding mice homozygous for Cebpatm1(Cebpb)Ylee with transgenic mice expressing cre recombinase, driven by the EIIa promoter. Expression of cre resulted in the excision of the floxed neo gene downstream of the stop codon. The Cebpb coding region inserted at the endogenous start codon to replace the coding region of Cebpa remained intact. Northern blot analysis confirmed the absence of Cebpa mRNA and the presence of the Cebpa/Cebpb hybrid mRNA in homozygous mutant mice. Western blot analysis showed that Cebpb protein levels were concomitant with the combined amount of Cebpb and Cebpa/Cebpb transcript until the age of 7 weeks. (J:77646)
