Mutation details: A neomycin selection cassette replaced a genomic fragment containing most of the exon 1 and 2. RNase protection assays on RNA derived from brain of homozygous mice demonstrated that no detectable transcript was produced from this allele. Western blot analysis on brain lysates derived from homozygous mice confirmed that no detectable protein is expressed from this allele.
