Homozygous females are normal and fertile. Homozygous males have small testes, normal serum testosterone, elevated serum follicle-stimulating hormone, azoospermia, and normal body and seminal vesicle weights. At 3 to 4 weeks, there is a reduction in number of spermatogenic cells that proceeds at different rates in different tubules, but by 8 to 10 weeks most tubules are devoid of germ cells, leaving only Sertoli cells(J:9278).
