Molecular description:

Using a conventional ES cell targeting strategy and homologous recombination, the T2A peptide and the open reading frame of improved Cre recombinase (iCre) were inserted between the last amino acid and the translation termination codon in exon 3 of the Npff gene. A positive selection marker (Puromycin resistance) flanked by FRT sites was removed by crossing with germline Flpe mice.
