Molecular description: The Cre-nuclear localization sequence and FRT flanked pgk-neo cassette was inserted to replace the coding region from the initiating codon in exon 1 of the mouse Avpr1b gene by homologous recombination in the ES cells. The chimeras generated from correctly targetted ES cells were crossed to the FLPe deleter to remove the pgk-neo cassette. The absence of Avpr1b mRNA in brain of homozygous mice was confirmed.
