Detailed physical mapping of overlapping cosmids and cross-hybridization to human cDNAs placed D176H11E, D17H6S112E and H2-Ke4 55kb, 50kb and 45kb proximal to H2-Pb, respectively (data not shown). Using the same techniques, D17H6S113E was shown to be approximately 30-40kb distal of H2-Pb and Abcb2 was 40kb proximal of H2-Ob. Authors state the order of genes in mice is: Rps18 - H2-K2 - H2-K - D17H6S111E - D17H6S112E. This provides an order in the MHC class II region which is conserved in both the human and the mouse.
