Revised gene symbols: Atp1a2 and Fcgr2 (formerly Atpa-3 and Ly-17 respectively).
  • Experiment
Physical mapping was used to position, in order, Chromosome 1 genes Atp1a2, Fcer1a, Apcs, Crp, Ifi202, Ifi203, Ifi204 and Spna1 on a 6900kb segment of Chromosome 1. The total genomic length occupied by these genes is between 2700 and 3220kb. The minimum distance from Atp1a2 to Ifi202, Ifi204 and Spna1 was at least 1200kb but no greater than 2800kb. Fcer1a, Apcs, Crp, Ifi202, Ifi204 and Spna1 share a common 1000kb SalI fragment. Spna1 is 460-590kb from the telomeric end of the fragment. The maximun distance between Apcs and the interferon activated genes (Ifi202, Ifi203, Ifi204) is 250kb. Atp1a2, Fcer1a and Apcs share a common 2800kb NruI band not shared by Ifi202, Ifi203, or Ifi204.
