Ts18, a triplacation of mouse Chromosome 18, was obtained by mating NMRI females with males that carry Rb(2.18)6Rma and Rb(1.18)10Rma. Cystols of livers from trisomics and euploid mouse fetuses were analyzed by isoelectric focusing for the amount of glucocorticoid receptor (GR). GR levels were 1.2 to 4.7 times higher (mean 2.1) in Ts18 fetuses than the levels recorded in euploid litter mates. Mice with Ts16 and Ts19 chromosomes exhibited levels consistent with the euploid data. The glucocorticoid receptor locus on Chromosome 18 is symbolized Nr3c1.
