A postaxial digit-like structure grew out laterally of the fifth finger of forelimbs in all Tfap2b^tm1Rbu/Tfap2b^tm1Rbu (Tfap2b^-/-) mice (a). Alizarin-red staining indicated a skeletal element within the accessory digit (b).
