Liver sections from 6 week old wild-type (A and C) and Adar^tm1Knk/Adar^tm1Knk Speer6-ps1^{Tg(Alb-cre)21Mgn}/0 mice (B and D) were either stained with hematoxylin and eosin (magnification x200) (A and B) or analyzed with the TUNEL assay (C and D). Many cells with pyknotic nuclei are detected in Adar^tm1Knk/Adar^tm1Knk Speer6-ps1^{Tg(Alb-cre)21Mgn}/0 mice (B). Examples of apoptotic hepatocytes (black arrowheads) are indicated.
