Characteristics

Hyperglycaemic, with mean plasma glucose levels of 230 mg/100 ml at 60 days, at which time males are about 41 g and females 35 g. Normal response curve following i.p. glucose tolerance test and no gross pathological changes with aging (Nash and Logsdon, 1974).
