• females intravaginally infected with Chlamydia muridarum exhibit lower CXCL1 secretion at 1 week, higher in week 2, and lower in week 4 of infection compared to wild-type mice
• females intravaginally infected with Chlamydia muridarum exhibit lower IFN-gamma secretion in the vaginal lavage
• females intravaginally infected with Chlamydia muridarum exhibit lower IL-12 secretion in the vaginal lavage
• females intravaginally infected with Chlamydia muridarum exhibit lower TNF-alpha secretion in the vaginal lavage
• females intravaginally infected with Chlamydia muridarum exhibit higher bacterial load from day 18 to 27 post-infection and are unable to clear the infection, however mice show reduced uterine dilatations and pathologic lesions than infected wild-type mice indicating a protective effect against developing genital tract pathology
