nervous system
• at E13.5, apoptotic Cajal-Retzius cells are detected in the cortical marginal zone and cortical hem; in the trigeminal ganglion, apoptosis is drastically increased compared to wild-type controls
• in adults, vomeronasal organ (VNO) neurons and axons are significantly reduced in numbers
• number of GnRH-positive neurons in preoptic area (generated initially in VNO) is dramatically reduced at P0
• from E12.5 onward, number of Cajal-Retzius cells in marginal zone, thalamic eminence, or choroid plexuses labeling for the deleted Trp73 isoform DeltaNp73 progressively decreases compared to controls, becoming significant after birth; at P0, Reelin-positive cells are reduced by 50%
• choroid plexus is reduced in size at P0

endocrine/exocrine glands
• number of GnRH-positive neurons in preoptic area (generated initially in VNO) is dramatically reduced at P0

reproductive system
• both males and females exhibit impaired fertility; this is particularly evident in females which generate only 2 or three litters

respiratory system
• in adults, vomeronasal organ (VNO) neurons and axons are significantly reduced in numbers

craniofacial
• in adults, vomeronasal organ (VNO) neurons and axons are significantly reduced in numbers

cellular
• at E13.5, apoptotic Cajal-Retzius cells are detected in the cortical marginal zone and cortical hem; in the trigeminal ganglion, apoptosis is drastically increased compared to wild-type controls

growth/size/body
• in adults, vomeronasal organ (VNO) neurons and axons are significantly reduced in numbers
