embryo
• at E11 to E15.5, 1 of 2 umbilical arteries exhibits complete stenosis unlike in wild-type mice
• at E11.5, labyrinth endothelial cells exhibit shortened cell bodies compared to wild-type cells
• at E12.5, labyrinth vascular endothelia cells are rounded unlike wild-type cells
• at E11.5 and E13.5, reduced labyrinth cell body length contributes to loss of vessel wall integrity and extracellular edema between the vessels and underlying syncytiotrophoblasts unlike in wild-type mice
• at E13.5, vascular branching in the placental labyrinth is reduced compared to in wild-type mice
• however, endothelial cell migration and de novo angiogenesis are normal
• at E13.5, the placental labyrinth is half as thick as in wild-type mice

renal/urinary system
• at E11.5, apoptosis in the distal urethral plate epithelium (UPE) is decreased 90% compared to in wild-type mice
• at E12.5, the distal UPE is thicker than in wild-type mice
• proliferation of mesenchyme cells flanking the proximal UPE is decreased compared to in wild-type mice
• at E13.5, the mesenchyme flanking the UPE is vascularized by vessels that are typically 7-fold larger than in wild-type mice
• at E13.5, the UPE protrudes through the distal urethra placing a physical barrier of epithelium at the site where progressing mesenchymal shelves meet and fuse unlike in wild-type mice
• at E15.5, the urethral groove remains exposed, with no fusion of the distal mesenchyme, leaving the placement and formation of the distal meatus undefined unlike in wild-type mice
• however, reduced genital tubercle proliferation can be rescued in vitro by Fgf8 supplementation
• mice fail to exhibit a condensation of medial mesenchyme in the distal section of the penis and disorganized condensation in proximal sections compared with wild-type mice

cardiovascular system
• at E14.5, right and left ventricular wall thickness is reduced 43% compared to in wild-type mice

digestive/alimentary system
• the rectum forms more ventrally and one gestational day earlier than in wild-type mice

homeostasis/metabolism
• E11.5 and E13.5, reduced labyrinth cell body length contributes to loss of vessel wall integrity and extracellular edema between the vessels and underlying syncytiotrophoblasts unlike in wild-type mice
