respiratory system
• mice exhibit increased airway responsiveness to acetylcholine
• mononuclear cells consisting of a mixed lymphocyte infiltrate are present in the lung epithelium
• however, mice do not display any overt signs of lung infection

immune system
• mice exhibit increased airway responsiveness to acetylcholine

• mice fail to develop hair on the tops of their heads, the backs of their necks and the inner surface of their thighs
• however, by 20 to 30 days hair growth on the head and neck resumes
• degenerating follicle cells are surrounded by mononuclear cells consisting of a macrophage infiltrate
• mixed cellular infiltration of dermis, macrophages; mixed cellular infiltration of airway walls, mixed lymphocytes
