• loss of acute tau extension and shortening following phase delaying and phase advancing light shifts
• spontaneous shortening of the circadian period several cycles after a 30 min. light pulse during the early subjective night in mice under constant dark conditions
• spontaneous shortening of the circadian period is also seen several days after mice are exposed to 8 h of light
• tau length is shorter after short light exposure than after long light exposure
