immune system
• when chronically exposed to hapten, mice a 63% reduction in serum IgE levels compared to similarly treated wild-type mice
• 6 days after DNFB-challenge, mice exhibit reduced levels of macrophage-derived chemokine and Ccl5 compared to similarly treated wild-type mice
• mice exhibit higher levels of thymus- and actication-regulated chemokine compared to wild-type mice only in a few hours after DNFB-challenge
• however, cytokine production following challenge with DNFB is normal
• during the very late phase response mice exhibit reduced numbers of lymphocytes, eosinophils, neutrophils and mast cells compared to similarly treated wild-type mice
• bsaophil infiltration during the very late phase response is reduced compared to in similarly treated wild-type mice
• ear-swelling in response to immunized with DNP-specific IgE and challenged with DNFB is reduced compared to in wild-type mice especially during the late phase response (reduced by 65%)
• 5 days following exposure to DNFB, mice exhibit less dermal infiltrate than wild-type mice
• following exposure to FITC or repeated exposure to hapten, mice exhibit reduced acute and chronic contact hypersensitivity as determined by reduced swelling, basal ear thickness and serum IgE levels compared to wild-type mice
• however, Langerhans and dendritic cell migration is normal and mice respond normally to application of SRBC and croton oil (a causal agent of dermatitis)

homeostasis/metabolism
• mice exhibit reduced levels of protoglandin D2 compared to wild-type mice in response to DNFB challenge
• 6 days after DNFB-challenge, mice exhibit reduced levels of macrophage-derived chemokine and Ccl5 compared to similarly treated wild-type mice
