Find Mice Using the International Mouse Strain Resource (IMSR)
Mouse lines carrying:
Abcc3tm1Bor mutation (0 available); any Abcc3 mutation (70 available)
phenotype observed in females
phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype
homeostasis/metabolism
• plasma levels of M6G (a metabolite of morphine seen in humans) are lower 60 minutes after M6G injection and the antinociceptive effect of M6G is decreased in homozygotes

behavior/neurological
• the antinociceptive effect of M6G is decreased

homeostasis/metabolism
• mice exhibit a minor decrease in uptake of bile salts from the gut and consequently fecal bile salt excretion compared with wild-type mice
• plasma and brain levels and urinary excretion of M3G (metabolite of morphine) are significantly lower 30 minutes after morphine injection compared to wild-type mice
• hepatic and biliary levels of M3G are increased and excretion pathway of morphine and M3G is shifted from the urinary to gastrointestinal
• after injection of M3G, plasma levels of M3G are lower and detectable levels are morphine are seen in the plasma unlike in wild-type mice
