• the B220hi population of mostly mature B cells in the bone marrow was reduced to about 60%
• in the spleen, B220+PNA+germinal center B cells are reduced to about 60%
• IgM+Mac-1+CD5+ B1a cells were reduced on average by 30% in the peritoneal cavity
• in the spleen, CD21hiCD23lo marginal zone B cells are reduced to about 60%
• the B220loc-Kit+ population of preBI-cells in the bone marrow was increased to about two-to-threefold
• spleen germinal center size was significantly smaller
• shape of areas of marginal zone B cells appeared less condensed compared to wildtype
• IgG1 and IgG3 responses to the T-independent antigen, NP-Ficoll, were significantly reduced, however responsiveness of IgM, IgG2a and IgG2b were not altered and responses to T-dependent antigen, DNP-KLH were not affected
