Mutation detailsA cDNA containing the open reading frame encoding mouse adiponectin was altered by deleting the region encoding amino acids 5795, containing 13 collagen repeats. This deletion mutant lacks 13 of 22 Gly-X-Y repeats in the collagenous domain of the encoded protein. The mouse 5.4-kb aP2 enhancer/promoter sequence (Fabp4) was introduced upstream of the cDNA. In addition, the simian virus 40 splice and polyadenylase sequences were introduced into downstream of the cDNA. Multiple lines were generated, but line 2 had increased circulating levels in serum and was studied further. (J:87440)
