Mutation details: CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene editing was used to introduce five point mutations into the native mouse beta-actin gene, altering it to encode gamma-actin protein. In homozygous mice, no beta-actin protein is produced, and gamma-actin is expressed under the control of the endogenous beta-actin promoter.
