Name: drosha, ribonuclease type III; targeted mutation 1, Dan R Littman
MGI ID: MGI:3801076
Synonyms: DroshaF, DroshaflEx9, Droshalox
Gene: Drosha  Location: Chr15:12824863-12935243 bp, + strand  Genetic Position: Chr15, 5.99 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:138683
Parent Cell Line:  E14 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129P2/OlaHsd
Allele Type:    Targeted (Conditional ready, No functional change)
Mutation:    Insertion
Mutation detailsA targeting vector was used to introduce a loxP-flanked neomycin resistance cassette to intron 8, and an additional loxP site to intron 9 of the gene. The construct was electroporated into 129P2/OlaHsd-derived E14 embryonic stem (ES) cells. The neomycin cassette was excised with a C57BL/6 background EIIa-Cre, leaving loxP sites on either side of exon 9. (J:138683)
